Library and Attendance Management System

Abstract

This software package is an application which is used for the manipulating both student library records and attendance details.

Library and attendance Management System System is an application for helping a librarian for managing the library in college. Library and attendance Management System project is used to reduce human efforts and maintain the entire library book, student records in an efficient way.

Overall the Library and attendance Management System will give the complete information about the library. Administrator can add record of new book, edit existing book, and add student detail. Administrator can issue the books to the students and manage their records and can also know how many books are available in the library and issue stock of books in the library. The Library and attendance Management System is developed for issue and receives of books in the library along with their student’s detail.

Student can login into the application and can view the entire book that is taken from the library. Administrator sends the sms and mail to the student to return the book to the library before the returning date.

Administrator can also send the student absence information through the sms to the parent’s mobile number.

Modules

The proposed system of this application software are as follows.They are

Admin Module

Admin of the application software package manipulates the overall activities. So here admin is called as the super user of this product. He/she manipulates the library and student’s attendance modules.

Library Module

In this module, Administrator can add record of new book, edit existing book, and add student detail. Administrator can issue the books to the students and manage their records and can also know how many books are available in the library and issue stock of books in the library.

Attendance Module

Administrator can add the records about the daily attendance details of the students. Daily attendance details of the students are maintained in the database.

Sms Module

By this module,alert short message service(sms)is generated and delivered to the student and the parents.Administrator sends the sms and mail to the student to return the book to the library before the returning date and he can also send the student absence information through the sms to the parent’s mobile number.

Report Module

This module will generate the report about the overall activities of this application software package.

Existing System:

The existing system is the manual system. All the records are maintained in the papers.Need to be converted into automated system.

Proposed System

The Proposed System has the mssql connectivity for the database. The design is developed in the ASP .Net programming language

CONCLUSION

The main intention of the software development is to fulfill management of library and attendance management system. Current system takes lots of time to manage so we collected necessary requirements. According to the library and attendance management we are developing this project. This software replaced the manual system. In the old system several mistakes made, but in the current system all the processes are done automatically.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT

• Library and Attendance records would systematically be manipulated. Now it is demonstrated in offline.
• In future it would be implemented as the live one and also used as the exe in desktops.
