ABSTRACT

 

It is important to know the road traffic density real time especially in metropolitan cities for signal control and effective traffic management. Traffic control is a very difficult task for traffic control department, especially in metro cities. The Project is designed to check the density of traffic in particular place and the information is conveyed to traffic control station.

 

This project is designed with AT89S52 microcontroller. Three pairs of IR Tx-Rx are used here to indicate the density of the traffic. The module consists of an IR emitter and receiver pair. The high precision receiver always detects a signal of fixed frequency. Our controller analyzes traffic in that particular road and updates the information in the web server using IoT module connected to the controller. So that the user can take a decision whether to travel from that route or not i.e to avoid traffic. A 16X2 LCD is used for the purpose of display.

 

This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
