Abstract:

Ultraviolet (UV) light is an electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength from 10 nm (30 PHz) to 380 nm (750 THz), shorter than that of visible light but longer than X-rays. UV radiation is present in sunlight, and also produced by electric arcs and specialized lights such as mercury-vapor lampstanning lamps, and black lights. Although lacking the energy to ionize atoms, long-wavelength ultraviolet radiation can cause chemical reactions, and causes many substances to glow or fluoresce. Consequently, biological effects of UV are greater than simple heating effects, and many practical applications of UV radiation derive from its interactions with organic molecules.

Suntanfreckling and sunburn are familiar effects of over-exposure, along with higher risk of skin cancer. Living things on dry land would be severely damaged by ultraviolet radiation from the sun if most of it were not filtered out by the Earth’s atmosphere.

So to avoid all such damages we have introduced a project to detect from dangerous UV rays. An UV sensor is fixed to the controller to detect and notify about UV rays. By analyzing all these one can decide to travel in that particular area or not. A temperature sensor is connected to the controller through ADC to monitor the temperature and rainfall sensor is also given to identify the rain and also to inform to public. All these information is posted on the web server using IoT module connected to the controller. User can view the information through internet and they can avoid travelling from that place if the UV rays are severe. Here we are using AT89S52 as our controller.

This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
