RAIN FALL MANAGEMENT AND FLOOD ALERT MONITORING SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this project is to manipulate the rainfall level in district wise. This paper will also develop a flood monitoring and warning system by integrating meteorological and hydrological data. The mechanism for gathering, detecting, managing, examining, and distributing data will be established in order to convey urgent messages, during the time of crisis to the meterological department officer.The main goal of this product is to prevent catastrophe occurrence. By this product admin or employee in the meteorological department can add the number of water reservoirs like lakes, ponds and capacity of each and every reservoir and flood causing rainfall limit in the reservoir in a district.Admin and employee in the meteorological department can add the number of district wise meteorological department officer for sending the natural calamities (i.e. flood) alert.

MODULES DESCRIPTION

Admin or employee module

By this module, admin or the employees in the weather forecasting department can add the district wise number of water reservoirs like lakes, ponds etc., and they can add the capacity of each and every water reservoirs in a district and they can also maintain the records for the flood alert monitoring. By comparing the water reservoir capacity and amount of rainfall per day they can predict the chance of flood occurrence.

Meteorological records module

This module is used to add the meterological reports like amount of rainfall in a district into the database and by using this employee or admin in the weather forecasting department can add the total capacity of the each and every water reservoirs like ponds and lakes etc., in a district

Flood prediction module

Rain prediction module is used to predict the rain occurrence chance in a district and prevent the natural calamities.By comparing the capacity of the water reservoir in a district and rainfall amount per day in a district the meteorological officer can calculate the whether the water reservoir can hold the water or it will breached out. If they found any chance of flood occurrence they can send the flood alert message to the district wise meteorological officer.

District meteorological officer module

This module is used by the district meteorological officer. If the meteorological officers in the head quarter predict any natural calamities they can send alert message to the district meteorological officer. By that alert message district meteorological officer have to announce the flood alert message to the people one who living around the particular water reservoirs.

Report module

This module is used to take an overview about the overall activities of this product. Report module contains the head quarter and district meteorological officer details and rainfall records and flood occurrence details.
