Abstract
The objective of this application is to allow new and old students of a university or college to communicate with each other. This allows students to know about each other and their current activities. The Alumni will be always interested and keen to maintain relations with the institution he/she studied. With this product software, they can contribute much to the institution in the form of providing guidance to their juniors regarding their career opportunities. Alumni once register into the account he/she will add upcoming job vacancy details. Admin can view all the student records, alumni student records, job vacancy details added by alumni students.
An alumni association is an association of graduates (alumni) or, more broadly, of former students. In the alumni of universities, colleges, schools, fraternities and sororities often form groups with alumni from the same organization. These associations often organize social events; publish newsletters or magazines raise funds for the organization. Many provide a variety of benefits and services that help alumni maintain connections to their educational institution and fellow graduates. Additionally, such groups often support new alumni, and provide a forum to form new friendships and business relationships with people of similar background.
Alumni associations are mainly organized around universities or departments of universities, but may also be organized among students that studied in a certain country. In the past, they were often considered to be the universities or schools old boy network. Today, alumni associations involve graduates of all age groups and demographics.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
It is very tough to find and locate the old students of a particular institution and gather them using the college records. Searching for the particular batch students is a time taking process.
DRAWBACKS
- Conventional process
In the conventional process to maintain the alumni is a very big task because it is difficult to get the details of the former students manually. Even the collected details storage is also a big problem because collecting the details manually and storage is also big problem.
- The modified details of the members cannot be updated
Though we have collected the details of the former students with taking so much time if there is any modification in their details further we cannot modify their details.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
To overcome all the drawbacks of the existing system we go for automate alumni software in which all the data of the members are updated automatically by the student itself. This modification will be updated only with proper validation of the student. Even the searching for a particular student is done very easily using this software.
Compare to the conventional process the time consumed is very less, and even the data can be stored securely in large amounts. Even the details of the former students can be retrived easily in less time.
Modules Description
The system is proposed to have the following modules. They are

- Staff Module
- Event Manager Module
- Student Module
- Report Module
Admin Module
The Administrator is responsible for maintaining information of students and he is the super user of this software product. Administrator will create the group mail for the old students in the college and he will add the students of the particular department into that group mail.
Staff Module
Students Alumni Management System is the application software it contains the separate module for the staff. In this module, the staff gives there information to enroll a new registration. The information is all about their contact details. They can create their own login and password for their future use of the login. In Login Form module presents site visitors with a form with username and password fields. If the user enters a valid username/password combination they will be granted access to additional resources on product and he can view the old students details based on year wise and department wise.
Event Manager Module
This module maintains the information about various events that are conducted by various colleges and universities.Details of notifications are also maintained.The manager can add,delete,edit and view the events details.
Students Module
In this module, the students gives there information to enroll a new registration. The information is all about their contact details. They can create their own login and password for their future use of the login. In Login Form module presents site visitors with a form with username and password fields. If the user enters a valid username/password combination they will be granted access to additional resources on product. If the students will update their profile that will be intimated to the admin.After login into the product students can see the group mail from the admin both in email and product. And in the testimonial menu students will get the updates about the latest interviews.
Report Module
Report module is the module it will provide the overview about the overall activities of the product software.
Future Scope
Contact alumni officer
It would be very useful if the members of the alumni website which are former students of college could directly contact the alumni officer through the website. The system that was implemented does not offer this functionality. The contact alumni officer functionality could be easily implemented using asp, which is also used in order to implement the broadcast e-mail functionality that the alumni web site offer.
Submit CV
It would be very useful if the former students would be able to directly submit their CV using the alumni website. This could be found very useful because of the fact that colleges cooperates with many different companies.
CONCLUSION
Searching for the particular batch students is a time taking process. To overcome all the drawbacks of the existing system we go for automate alumni software in which all the data of the members are updated automatically by the student itself. This modification will be updated only with proper validation of the student. The searching for a particular student is done very easily using this software.
