RFID-Based Attendance Management System
Visitor counter for museums and data posting to IoT
Title : Visitor counter for museums and data posting to IoT
Domain : Embedded Systems
Microcontroller : AT89S52
Sensors : IR pair
Display : 16 * 2 LCD
Power Supply : 5V, 500mA Regulated Power Supply
Communication device : ESP8266
With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as smartphones, sensors, cameras, and RFIDs, it is possible to collect massive amount of data for localization and tracking of people within commercial buildings. Enabled by such occupancy monitoring capabilities, there are extensive opportunities for improving the energy consumption of buildings via smart HVAC control.
This project surveys the existing works on visitor counting and multi-modal data fusion techniques for museums/smart commercial buildings. In this project, for the visitors data, IR sensors are used for the detection of existence of the persons and it will count the people while entering.
The sensor is IR pair, Infra Red made of LED and A Photo Transistor. This enhances the visitor data in the museum, leading to the smart environment. So that necessary measures can be taken by the officials about crowd which may be huge during weekends, public holidays. Here AT89S52 acts as heart of our project.
The occupancy will be displayed on the LCD. LCD 16*2 is interfaced to the controller used. The IOT module is interfaced to the controller to send the information of visitors to the authorities of the such visiting places. This project output can be checked at the Android mobile Phone or in the computer. This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply.
